Milestones That Shape a Lifetime

Becoming a B’nei Mitzvah is a personal evolution into Jewish adulthood, guided by learning and supported by clergy every step of the way. With three campuses, families can prepare and celebrate close to home. From the first lesson to the final blessing, discover commitment that helps your whole family feel confident and complete.

The Journey Begins Here

Preparation starts in our schools and evolves into a transformative nine-month process. Through individualized tutoring, spiritual mentorship, and community engagement, each student is empowered to step into this milestone with pride.

  • One-on-one tutoring with expert mentors
  • Clergy meetings to explore theology, prayer, and personal meaning
  • Torah and Haftarah study to build confidence and skill
  • D’var Torah writing, supported by clergy
  • A tikkun olam project rooted in Jewish values
  • Multiple family rehearsals to bring it all together

Ceremonies are held at the Glazer and Resnick campuses, each an inspirational space with its own spirit.

A child passes through the sacred portal to adulthood, a personal and intimate tradition we celebrate as a b'nei mitzvah. Through this cherished moment we reaffirm our ancient traditions and culture with yet another promise to live a life of kindness, civility, and making the world a better place.

— Cantor Lisa Peicott, Senior Cantor

Why Families Love It Here

What makes Wilshire’s b’nei mitzvah experience different?

It’s the combination of tradition and warmth, structure and flexibility. We don’t just prepare students to perform; we help them grow into their authenticity and purpose.

Here, families feel heard, students feel supported, and the moment of standing on the bimah feels truly earned and deeply personal.

Every b’nei mitzvah is a sacred unfolding, a young soul stepping into their life story. It’s our honor to walk by their side.

— Rabbi Joel Nickerson
Senior Rabbi
