Finding Strength in Service
Engagement here is all about action. It’s meals prepared, voices raised, hands held, ideas shared. Every small act of showing up builds momentum, turning care into change and Jewish faith into something you can feel.
Bring your time, your talents, and your tenderness and discover how powerfully we can build when we do it side by side.

Karsh Family Social Service Center
Our Glazer Campus in Koreatown is home to the Karsh Family Social Service Center, a hub for compassion and practical support. Here, thousands of Angelenos find healthcare, food assistance, mental health resources, and legal aid. The work at Karsh transforms lives, offering dignity and hope in the heart of the city.
Our reach expanded with the opening of Karsh Tikkun Olam Social Service Center (Karsh West) at our Resnick Campus where volunteers can match passion with purpose at this vibrant volunteer hub. Whether packing sandwich lunches, making toiletry kits, or writing postcards to seniors experiencing isolation, Karsh West offers a place where people of all ages can make a difference and find community in the process.
Tikkun Olam in Action
Beyond the walls of our campuses, we are present wherever compassion calls.
Our Disaster Response Team is trained and mobilized to serve communities facing wildfires, floods, and other emergencies, bringing comfort and relief when it’s needed most. Seasonal initiatives like holiday food drives and the Karsh Center's “Big Give” Thanksgiving meal distribution rally the entire congregation to stand together in service, transforming generosity into shared celebration.

Families at the Heart of Service
Community engagement is woven into the lives of our children and families. Students from our schools and programs often participate in service projects, from preparing meals to assembling care kits to supporting holiday drives. These experiences do more than teach responsibility; they give our young people a chance to live out Jewish values in tangible ways.
For families, volunteering becomes a way to connect across generations as parents, grandparents, and children serve side by side, creating lasting memories, deepening bonds, and helping our children see themselves as part of something larger.
There's A Place for You
Engagement here is about connection as much as it is about service. It’s about showing up for strangers, neighbors, and for one another, and in doing so, discovering a deeper sense of belonging. From young families to longtime members, everyone can find a meaningful way to contribute. And just as importantly, we make it easy: through simple orientation and thoughtful matching, we help each person find the role that feels right for them.
