In the classroom, we encourage the development of friendships, which creates a strong feeling of Jewish community. Students absorb more content information at this stage, and demonstrate it through theater, art, discussion and action. When learning about heroes, we encourage them to become Jewish heroes themselves.
The “Hebrew Pod” program is introduced through decoding and listening comprehension skill building to teach Hebrew reading and prayer. Students progress at their own pace.
First Period : OUR JOURNEY THROUGH JEWISH LIFE CYCLE
Students explore the cycle of life events and tie them to meaning of Jewish life and t’filot (prayers).
Second Period : HEBREW
Third Period : PROPHETS AS REAL HEROES
Prophetic stories teach essential values that students need to continue Jewish life. Students learn that Biblical prophets were real people who made a difference through their actions.
